Hello and welcome, thanks for stopping by.

I  live in New Zealand and am a wife to a farmer,  mother to our little girl (born 2011) and since catching the creative bug that seems to emerge with motherhood, a revived and obsessed sewer (with not much time to sew).  My sewing has a way to improve but I’m loving it and learning it as I go.  Self taught and thriving on the revolution of modern sewing patterns I sew on my late grandmothers sewing machine and my mother’s serger.

For the last couple of years I have been inspired, amazed, and excited by the works and talents of many SAHM’s with a passion to create, as showcased through their blogs and generous online tutorials.  I would love to attain the skills to draft my own patterns, something I’ve dabbled in a wee bit but with poor results.  Here is my place to share the successes and lesson’s learnt along the way and keep a record for prosperity.

I have had great fun following tutorials, skimming blogs and gaining inspiration from others.  Now I want to contribute, to participate, to share and to hopefully inspire others along the way.

I would love to hear from you, comments are good 🙂

  1. Hi there, I was delighted this morning to discover you are the first person to comment on my sewing blog (bobbincat)! So thanks! I was feeling a bit lonely! I am making up the oencil skirt now in a stretchier knit fabric which has created a whole new set of sewing and fitting issues. I have put it down and will return to it when I find some online advice to help. I loved sewing for my kids when they were preschoolers but with boys it was slightly more restricted – pjs, dressing gowns, superhero costumes, track pants and jackets. Love the pop over jacket and the patterned lining you used. Nice job.
